Missouri Cities 6-Person Challenge 2008

 The 4^th annual six person bring team city vs city tournament was held April 17^th thru 19^th at Doc’s Shuffle Inn, Stockton Missouri.  There were seven teams this year, one each from St.Louis, Springfield, and Kansas City.  Two teams each from Stockton and Houston. 

ABC Draw: The event got started on Thursday evening with an ABC draw tournament.  The winning team was Jolene Lembke, Gary Hagerty, and Sheila Cundiff.  Second place team was Jim Payne, Carol Pittman, and Ray Wadsack.  Third place honors went to Rick Pittman, Gary Johnson, and Denny Cundiff.

6-Person Team Challenge:  The main event, 6 person bring team went to St. Louis for the second year in a row.  The St. Louis team came back from the loser bracket beating Houston back to back in some close and exciting matches.  The final went to a rubber match, with Chuck Muehlhauser sticking a weight on the last shot with game on board to win the title.  The other St. Louis team members were:  Jimmy and Donna Dunn, Jerry and Larry Romay, and Mike Simpson.  Houston shooters were:  John Stenger, Dean Pinkston, Rick Pittman, Scott Townley, Randy “Cotton” Walker and Manny Lane.  Third place went to Stockton this year.  Team members were:  Jim Payne, Gary Johnson Sr., Batheny Rohr, Craig, Pam and Justin Bendickson.  The fourth Bendickson, Justin’s wife Casey, was not able to play this year as she has a biscuit in the oven.

Again as in past years, this was an excellent tournament and the city pride really showed.  With just a couple exceptions, the top 30 or so players were at this event representing there town.  A big THANK YOU!! to all who participated and help at this years tournament.

St. Louis has won this event 3 out of 4 years, with Kansas City taking the other title.  Who will the next champion be??
