Tournament fund raising to be presented to
Gene in honor of Sally Wendling was announced to
be donated to the Michigan Shuffleboard Hall of
Fame in Sally’s name by Gene.
Two events were scheduled in this tournament;
an AB draw, and the annual Sweetheart Mixed
Doubles event.
In the AB Draw on Saturday, teams competed in
a four placement event. In first place, girl
power of Linda Mitchell and Melinda Flynn
surfaced in first place (sponsored by Chuck
Ricklefs) . Finishing in second place were Sonny
Morgan and Harold Garian (sponsored by Jackie
Meagher). Third place went to John Addington and
Steve Jurik (sponsored by Linda Mitchell) and
finishing in fourth place were Chris Lemieux and
Slick Parrish (sponsored by Vic Matteson).
During the presentation of prize monies, Chuck
Ricklefs generously announced that he was
donating his Calcutta portion to the Michigan
Shuffleboard Hall of Fame in honor of Sally
Wendling.
In Sunday’s Sweetheart Mixed Doubles event,
first place went to the double dipping team of
hosts Bill and Brenda Kane (sponsored by Gene
Wendling). Second place victors were Vic
Matteson and Kathy Francisco (sponsored by
themselves), and third place went to Steve Jurik
and Melinda Flynn (sponsored by Gene Wendling).
